This in-depth fire lighting class will make you confident lighting and maintaining fires in a range of conditions, even if it’s lashing down with rain.

All of our courses are available as 24 month gift vouchers which can be purchased here.

Timings: 9.30am – 5pm

Aged: 18 and over (Accompanied 14+ year olds welcome on 26th July)

Location: South London Woods – CR3.

Our South Wales Woodland, in the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park can also be booked for private courses.

During this course you will:

Try out a range of fire lighting options, including traditional flint and steel, batteries and wire wool, chemical means, fire by friction and many more.

Develop confidence in finding and using a mix of natural tinders and synthetic fibres.

Build a number of fires through their early stages, gaining confidence of material selection and fire management.

Create your own fire bow set and know how to use it to make an ember, and blow this into a fire.

Understand different fire lays for varied weather conditions and situations.
