Terms and Conditions

These terms and conditions form the basis of the contract between Pippin & Gile and you and cannot be changed, unless in writing by Pippin & Gile.

Booking
  1. Pippin & Gile will only reserve group bookings for 7 days if payment is via bank transfer, otherwise Pippin & Gile is not able to reserve courses without payment in full.
  2. All available course places are booked on a first come first served basis.
  3. We cannot be held responsible for the delivery or clearing of funds, either in full or part.
Payment
  1. We reserve the right to change, alter or adapt our accepted payment methods.
  2. We reserve the right to refuse any booking without giving a reason.
Changing your Booking
  1. You can make changes to your booking providing any changes are made more than 8 weeks before the date of your course.
  2. Pippin & Gile will apply the price that was in place at the time of your original booking to your revised one.
  3. There will be a small administrative charge of 5% of the course cost will apply.
  4. If you change the course date less than 8 weeks before the date of your course, Pippin & Gile will treat it as a cancellation. Unless you added flexi booking at the time of booking.
  5. Your booking may be transferred to another person up to 48 hours before a course, subject to a 10% administration fee.
Flexi Booking
  1. Must be brought at the time of booking.
  2. Each Flexi Booking applies to one place on a course. If you’re booking multiple people onto a course you will need an equal number of flexi bookings to cover the whole group.
  3. Flexi booking gives you the freedom to rebook your course with as little as 24 hours notice onto any matching course up to 8 weeks after your initial booking. 
  4. We will endeavour to rebook you onto the same course within 8 weeks. Where this is not possible such as with a seasonal course we will offer you a gift voucher of the same value as your original booking that can be redeemed against any of our courses in the next 8 weeks.
  5. Our Wild Alcohol and Foraging Workshop and Autumn Foraging and Preserving Course only run once a year so Flexi booking is not available with these courses.
Cancellation by You
  1. If you cancel more than 8 weeks before the date of your course, your booking fee minus a 5% admin fee will be refunded.
  2. If you cancel less than 8 weeks before the date of your course, Pippin & Gile are unable to refund the course. We can swap it to another person this will incur a 10% administration fee.
  3. Pippin & Gile strongly recommend that you take out an appropriate insurance policy.
  4. Refunds are made by Square our secure payment system.
Cancellation by Pippin & Gile

Whilst we will make every effort to run our courses as scheduled, there may be exceptional circumstances (e.g. an outbreak of Foot and Mouth disease, extreme weather) when we are forced to postpone a booking.  In these circumstances a 24 month long gift voucher for the value of the course will be issued.

Insurance & Liability
  1. Pippin & Gile has £5,000,000 of Public Liability Insurance with Activities Industry Mutual.
  2. The courses take place in woodland in all weather conditions.  You acknowledge that these environments are never completely risk free.  Whilst Pippin & Gile makes every effort to minimise risks, we will not be held liable for accidents, mishaps or losses that are not a result of negligence on the part of Pippin & Gile or for any accidents or losses which are due to your failure to follow our instructions.
  3. Pippin & Gile cannot be held responsible for any losses or damage to your personal belongings, clothing, money or vehicle unless due to our negligence.
  4. Pippin & Gile recommends that you consider taking out your own personal insurance if you require it.
  5. Pippin & Gile will not be responsible for any accidents or mishaps occurring to third parties taught by you.
Complaints
  1. If you have a complaint, you should approach us first; this will allow for a speedy remedy of the complaint.
  2. If you feel you have a complaint after the end of the course you must put it in writing within 14 days of the course ending.
  3. We will not be liable for any complaints received after 14 days of the course ending.
  4. Any complaints received will be dealt with on an individual basis.
Notes to Participants

While Pippin & Gile takes every reasonable step to safeguard the well being of participants, the outdoors and adventurous activities carry an element of risk by their very nature. All people taking part should be aware of this risk and accept the role they play in taking responsibility for their own safety and that of others.


The nature of outdoor activities means they take place in an ever changing environment. While everything is done to carry out the activity to the advertised program, Pippin & Gile reserve the right to change or modify activities if conditions become such that they could compromise safety.

If necessary your medical details will be passed on to the appropriate emergency services.

Client Conduct
  1. It is your responsibility to ensure that you arrive at the designated meeting point in a timely manner in order to be able to join the course.
  2. We expect you to behave in such a way as to not jeopardise the enjoyment or the safety of others.
  3. You must not use foul or abusive language.
  4. You must not make statements of a racist, sexist, homophobic or defamatory nature.
  5. No aggressive behaviour.
  6. No alcohol or illegal drugs are permitted.
  7. Express permission must be given by us to bring a pet on a course, if another customer is uncomfortable with the pet it must be left in your vehicle or tied up by your shelter for the duration of the course.
  8. You are responsible for bringing adequate clothing and equipment to the course.
  9. You must comply with all reasonable instructions and directions from us, a kit list is in the course pack.
  10. No cutting tools can be used until we are satisfied that you have been fully instructed in their safe use.
  11. You are not to cut any living tree, or part of a living tree, without our express consent.
  12. No fires are to be lit without our express consent.
  13. Fires outside of the main fire pits must not be left unattended at any time.
  14. You are responsible for any equipment issued to you during the course, and will be liable for loss or breakage due to misuse.
  15. You must inform us of any relevant medical conditions.

Failure to comply with the above is likely to result in you being removed from the course, without refund.  Pippin & Gile will not be liable for any subsequent losses.

Photographs
  1. We will ask before taking photos of the group if you are happy for photos to be taken. These will be used by us in any way we deem appropriate to promote our courses.
