Age: 18 and over
Location: South London Woods – near Caterham
On this jam packed one day bushcraft course you will learn the foundations of bushcraft;
Have a go at constructing a natural shelter as a group,
Develop basic safe knife use,
Learn how to collect and purify water
Learn a range of fire lighting techniques, including fire by friction and using natural and man made tinders,
Be able to identify common trees and plants and know some uses for each of them,
Make string out of natural materials,
Try out some natural navigation techniques.
No previous bushcraft experience is necessary, you’ll be surprised at how much breadth and depth of the building blocks of bushcraft foundations we cover on this course.
We promise you will never walk though the woods in the same way again.
As well as hard skills, you’ll be sure to gain knowledge, insights and discover an appreciation and awareness of the everyday, in a very non everyday day.

We learnt how to filter water, start a fire from nothing but wood(!), build a shelter from sticks and leaves and weave ourselves a rope made of nettles! What a day! We would throughly recommend it for anyone who enjoys the outdoors and fancies learning new skills.
